JoomlaJunkie - Joomla Template Provider Bringing color to the Joomla community

ok so i know this template is NOT compatiable with j1.5 but... i did not know this when i started to build our new and improved www.performanceradionetwork.com around it. then i read in the template guide that is was not compatiable and i almost cried as this is the perfect template for our site. but i've been busting my butt to make it work for joomla 1.5 and i've almost got everything working that i need for now, but i do have a few things i was hoping you could help me on.

first the news ticker. i was really hoping to beable to use this in our new site but i can't seem to find the toolbar position, how do i A. create the position B. assign a diffrent position for the template to use in place of toolbar position?

second is bread crumbs. when i assign the breadcrums to the breadcrumbs position they do not show up in the template. not sure why so i was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction.

third the photo block on the home page, i'd love to be able to rotate pictures of the cars from our latest pod cast there but i can seem to make the module appear there. what position do i need to assign the simple image rotator to so it appears on the home page?

For the record the J1.5 version is on the table being worked on. I don't like giving out dates, but there is potential to see the new version with a few more features as well next week. If you have the time to spare it wil be worth it to wait.

A ) Now, as for the toolbar position. Creating new module positions in J1.5 is probably the most asked question of al time, and when you discover how you will slap yourself. You know when you click the arrow to scroll down over all the toolbar positions for the model you working with? Well don't click scroll, just start typing. Simple right? Now you have your toolbar position.
B ) Not sure what you mean.

Breadcrumbs, that is certainly odd. My trick knee is telling me it is probably due to you running a 1.0 template on 1.5 though.

Simple Image rotator sits in User1 with -sfx nopadding as its module class suffix.

the new ticker works fine now, but i'm having to use s5's news ticker becuase i can seem to get your's downloaded becuase it shows up as a empty zip. I'd rather use your news ticker becuase s5's craps out a tthe start. and yeah that a really :doh: moment when you figure out how to create a new module position...


also i got the image rotator working with no problem thanks to your input. now i just have to upload our images after i age them in photoshop.

i can live with out bread crumbs for now but i do have a couple of other things.

so time for more questions...

login button doesn't work, do you know what the link for the login component in j1.5 is?

and i can't get more than one tab to work... this isn't a deal killer for me, but it would be nice to be able to use it on the front page.

also since there is no com_frontpage in j1.5 how do i do the whole content-sidebar thing in the template_options.php? i'm thinking i'm going to have to change how the whole 'com_something' => 'content-sidebar', thing is processed in php, being as i'm still a joomla rookie, i could be wrong.

and last, when a module is assigned to the user positons at the bottom of the template the refuse to show up in the site...

well i just downloaded the ticker... it works sort of. it doesn't rotate between the items, it just shows the first item. i'm thinking maybe it has something to do with jquery?
