Total newbie Joomla user but learning quickly . I've just come across your great templates and installed Serenity for a site I'm trying to design.

I've been playing around with creating sections, categories, pages etc but now want to start over so deleted everything I did. The problem is that I'm stuck with the "section" title on the contact page. How do I remove this? It shouldn't even say 'Section' but 'Contact' if anything . I can't find it anywhere in the Admin, i.e all sections and content have been removed.

Deleting everything is a noble idea but, you might find it will prevent you from learning. To this day I still install the sample data and leave it until I really have to, and I have been using Joomla longer then then it has been named Joomla.

Nevertheless there are a few different ways to add/change/remove the title on the page.

* First log into the administrative back end.
* On the top menu click "Menu"->"mainmenu"
* Click "Contact".
* On the right side of the screen in the parameters section, locate the “Page Title” parameter that is next to the radio buttons “Show” and “Hide”.
* Click the “Hide” radio button.
* Click the “Save” button to make your change permanent.

I can think of three different ways to change or adjust that title on the page, this is only one. It's important you learn and understand how to make that title work for you as google likes to use that bit.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes in hind site I should have left the sample data in. I tried your solution but I don't have contact listed in the menus. In fact I have deleted everything, so I have no menu items, no categories, no sections, no static content or any other content which is why I cannot figure out where that title is coming from.

Also the title only shows up if you click on the contact link at the top right of the page. Those links are not listed in the menu manager at all and seem to be hard coded into the template. What baffles me is how did I manage to get a title on that menu link

Perhaps I should reinstall Joomla and start again.

I have installed Joomla literally a few thousand times, and probably install it at least 10 times a month for various reasons. There is no shame in starting over.

Joomla is is simple AND complex all in one.
