Slide shows not working 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I am having a problem with getting slide shows to work. The only one that works is the first link listed by Leckenby on this link http://www.joomlajunkie.com/members...-image-text-rotator.html. It is called image slide show(very creative name). I just want a few more options. I have tried rok-slide, Gavick photo slideshow(the newest)JA slide show, and Phoca gallery(plugin installed). I have tested all of them on a WAMP server with RM and they worked. Installed them on my website and they do not work. I tried also the absolute flush template and it does not work either. I know what you are thinking it the hosting service. Not so, with Beez, Phoca Nature, and Milkyway the slide shows work. I am starting to learn Joomla and php. So I am a newbie. My website is http://www.erbeevirtu.com(still not 100% complete). Please let me know what else is needed to get this to work. I know it is probably something I am doing wrong(or have done wrong). Thank you for your time.

Hi Dave,

I am not sure I follow you.... you said

"I have tested all of them on a WAMP server with RM and they worked. Installed them on my website and they do not work."

So they work locally and not on the live site??

Also, in the header, you have no modues loading, I see you must have the configuration set to "image" instead of "modules" - I am assuming when you say slideshow you mean in the top "user2" top section....

Yes they work locally. The template such as Beez, Phoca Nature work locally and live. RM only work locally. On the header i do not want the modules. When i place a slide show module on the left or right column of even in a {loadposition myposition} within the article only the slide show listed above works. I hope that clears it up a little.

Do you have a page with the slideshow active so I can have a look.

I see no reason it wont work, something like this is usually a javascript conflict, but in RM the template uses all JS in "no-conflict" mode, so other JS libraries dont see it as JS and cant conflict.. but I will know better if I can see it.

Andy,
I have placed 3 slide shows on the right column. 1. is JA slide show(stays only on the first image, 2. is the imageslideshow (this on works), 3. Is the rok slide(wont load at all). If you look at the slide show on the home page in the article itself it is the imageslideshow (same as #2). The Gavick slide show is just way messed up to load. Like i said it also happens on Absolute Flush.

By the way thank you for the timely help.

This is just a guess, but with all 3 of these loading, it makes sense that some wont work... one or more are using mootools. If I look at the loaded scripte, I see mootools is being loaded twice, once by Joomla and again by the JA slideshow. Then the other one has its own script briaskISS.js, this could be conflicting as well and also there is also the slideshow.js loading.

I am assuming you have tried them one at a time and not only all at once, as this would be commoon behaviour, all the script errors are mootools from what I can see (JaSlideshowClass is not defined - usually means it cant find the main js file), this could be because its being loaded twice and 2 different versions. Does the JA module have the option to turn off the JS. I know Joomla does not..... crazy!!

Please can you assign them to different pages to test better....

Also a good idea is to try set the top menu to "module" this way it wont load any of our menu javascript.
