Joomla 1.5.4 error Invalid arg jjmenu.php 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi,
Just done a clean instal of 1.5.4 installed without any sample content, uploaded this template, set as default and now have this error across the middle of the page

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /public_html/templates/rationalmagic/menu/jjmenu.php on line 129

The error does not show on any other template

I expect this is due to the joomla update, could I have a fix please

Thanks

Hi Jones

Nope, the update didn't do anything.

Installing without sample data is pretty odd, but I doubt that the issue. My best guess is you might be running php4 on your server? Just recently we discovered that J1.5 and rational Magic require php5.
I suggest you check your php version and enable 5 if it is indeed on 4. This is usually only a matter of adding one line of code to one file depending upon your webhost.

Also we have noticed some issues with Rational on free hosts. They do not generally support the compression we implement to make the templates incredibly fast. This could potentially be the issue, but the error message is not right for it so I doubt it.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for the quick reply, the PHP version is 5.2.6 and the host is not free unfortunately.

It worked fine on 1.5.3 on a fresh install, the only difference being the default content being there.

I'm just getting used to Joomla and the reason for the non content was to save deleting all the stuff I don't need and because it kept coming up with page not found errors when enabling SEF URL's.

Though it's maybe not a time saver after all, with the messing about now

I've looked around and selecting Menu Name: mainmenu in the template parameters, makes the lower menu look like this

Main Menu

* <span>Home</span>

If I select topmenu I get the error as stated in the last post

Am I doing something wrong, these are the only configs I've changed.

Help bit stuck with this

Yes, not installing the default content will actually take you substantially longer and cause you countless headaches. Take it from me. I still install sample on every install.

the <spans> are due to you using the same menu in the top as you are on the side modules. So if you change the top menu to be "topmenu" instead of "mainmenu" the problem will go away.

Hey guys!

I have the same problem!
Using: Joomla 1.5.4 and Rational Magic for J1.5!

I'll try myself to get some solution but I am also following your answers and suggestions in these posts...

I think it could have something to do with the higher security settings put manually to the joomla install...(maybe!) let's find out!

So I did a new clean installation and did everything the same as on my Localhost on the PC.
So equal configuration for home PC and host server.
I have PHP 5 enabled but I am still not getting the menu to display only the same message appears:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/XXXX/public_html/XXXX/templates/rationalmagic/menu/jjmenu.php on line 129

comparing the jjmenu.php with the old one I realized they are different...
anyway this is in line 129:

129 for (var i=0; i<sfEls.length; i++) {
137 sfEls[i].onmouseover=function() {
141 this.id="sfhover";
145 }

so....we need some help! ; )
