Multiple Issues 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello,

I have only recently started using Joomla! 1.5 and have just brought the Raster templete off you, I am having several problems with getting the templete to work as wanted though.

First off I can find no section at all in the Syndicate module to choose image at all.

Secondly, I am unable to find the other menu module for the footer at the bottom.

I am still in the process of setting it up, but any help would be really appreciated.

The guide to set it up also seems to have broken images.

I will post any more issues if I have them.

Thanks.

Oh, website is lightwaversmag.com

Hi eagleeyed,
Joomla 1.5 handles things quite differently to 1.0.x and that is why there are these small disrepencies in the templates guide. We are planning on doing some major upgrades to the guide, but in the mean time, to get your site up and running here are some pointers:

- In 1.0.x the modules mentioned in the guide are available and published by default. In 1.5, you need to actually specify which ones you would like. As far as i know this is only when you have not selected the "sample data" option when installing. In the module manager, select the top right "new" option, then choose the module type that you would like to add. In this case it would be the syndicate module.

- As for the other menu, again this is a module that was previously always included and since it did not serve any real purpose, it was always the "spare" menu that we used to assign to the footer position. In 1.5, all you need to do is add a new menu in you menu manager. Select "menu > menu manager" and then click "new" on the right. You can call the menu anything you like - relevant to what you are going to use it for.

Hope that helps
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for the help, and I have just done that.

I have just selected the 'Syndicate' module for the RSS feed, however it appears in 1.5 that this may not have image capabilities.

These are the options shown:
Title:
Show Title:
Enable:
Position:
Order:
Access Level:
Menu's: (All, None, Select from List)

Module Parameters:
Caching: Never is the only option.
Text: (is entered by default 'Feed Entries'
Format: (RSS 2.0 selected)
Module Class Suffix: Blank at the moment.

Those are the only options. I will have a go at the others when I get home.

Thanks.

Hi again,
Ok, i've done some digging and managed to find a fix Download this file: http://www.box.net/shared/static/qnhtyl1s8w.zip

And then replace your templates index.php and template_css.css with the new versions. After that you will need to assign the syndicate module to the "user5" module position.

Let me know how it works out

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for the hard work and trying to find the issue. Unfortuanaly I had to switch to 1.0 due to a component I needed not being compatible with 1.5 as of yet.

Would you be able to help me with another thing though. Ever since I installed the component and module from JoomlaWorks (slideshow thingy) I have been getting a error with your templete.

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/eagleey1/public_html/lwmag/templates/jj_rasper/index.php on line 95

I have tried google searching, checking JoomlaWorks and have not found an answer.

I have sent through a temporary super username and password via the contact page on your webpage.

If you are able to help this will be really appreciated.
