Hi Londongolfer,
Thanks for your valuable feedback! We are compiling a list of features to include, based on the feedback we have received and will be keeping this in mind when developing new templates..
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for your reply, however whilst I understand that development of previously developed templates to Joomla 1.5 cannot take priority my comments relate to that the fact that Snappy has been released in Joomla 1.0 compatibility only even as a new template.

Hi again Steve,
I think you must have missed my comment about our decision to release the 1.0.x version of new templates first, then convert them to 1.5 a week or so later. This allows us to be sure that there are no bugs or issues, reducing the need to update two seperate versions.

This is how we release Rational Magic and it worked really well. As i mentioned before, this wasn't as simple with Aurora, due to it relying on Tatami, which didnt have a 1.5 equivelant.

Hope this clarifies my previous post..

Cheers,
Chris

Snappa looks really good. I like the top menu and login/register links. Also the option to change background colour of the module header images is a good idea. Looking forward to trying it out in J1.5x.

Do you think it would work if at some point, you made the text styles and module suffixes available in one place (with demo, css, and any images) for use across all templates?

Also, as you've done a blog site, I was wondering if you would consider making templates with other different uses in mind, like a news site, a review site, a catalogue/sales site, a portfolio, a club, etc?

Hi LG
When you say text styles and module suffixes available in one place, do you mean like an example page that has all the stuff from the template snapshot page? We're working on some sexy new tutorials that have detailed explainations on how to utilize the templates built in styling, while keeping your content semantic. I'm not sure if that is what you mean though.

At this stage, our past couple of templates each have a snapshot page on the demo, which showcases the built in styling that is available (both mix n match module styles and style guide). We have seen from the feature that our members really like, so its something we are building on and even exploring the idea of making a JJ mambot/plugin that makes using the built in styling even easier - though, that being said it wouldnt apply to the modules, as those would always need the suffixes manually added.

If i havent addressed you question properly, please let me know and explain in a bit more detail and i'll be happy to explain further

Cheers,
Chris

PS, Snappa 1.5 is well on track - all thats left is some issues with the menu, which we are working furiously to get fixed

Ah, i missed your other question about the themed templates! It is something we've been thinking about for some time now. We've been working with Azrul and his team on a brand spanking new default template for MyBlog (which is pretty sexy if i dont say so myself) and JomComment, so i think the next themed template will be another blog one, but after that we could run a poll with our members and ask everyone what kind of theme they would like. Our idea in the past has to keep the templates generic so they could be used for any purpose, but i can also see how having specific themes is a good idea too...

Thanks again for your input and suggestions - they really do help us improve our product and services, which is always our main aim!

Cheers,
Chris
