Joomla 1.5 Template Compatibility 6 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Which commercial templates (or all templates) are Joomla 1.5 compatible? I don't want to have to test each of them to see. IF none are compatible, then what are the plans for 1.5 templates in 2008?

Hi,

All templates will work with Joomla 1.5 if legacy mode is turned on in the global config.

We are in the process of converting the most popular templates to 1.5 and will be releasing them in 2008. Also all templates released in 2008 until the final release of 1.5 is stable will come with a copy of a native 1.5 template. Native means that the templates designed for the 1.0x series will work as they do at present but in Joomla! 1.5 and without the legacy plugin.

Hi Janet,
We've been debating this one internally and the general feeling is we would like to make all our template updates to 1.5 available for free (to customers who purchased them of course ), but the time it takes to update each template varies so we have to try account for the time it takes to update all of them.

Short answer is that we have not yet decided yet, but if there is a fee it will be minimal..

I hope that answers your question

Cheers,
Chris

It might be worth your time listing compatibility on the overview page of each template. I just purchased a template and use 1.5 in Non Legacy mode. if I had known that the template wouldn't work with 1.5 I would have either waited to make a purchase, or would have found another template - and saved myself the cash at the same time.

I hope that you decide to give the template updates to former purchasers.

I should have checked the forums to see about compatibility before I made my purchase - it didn't occur to me - as I didn't see anything listed on the site in the faq or elsewhere to lead me to believe there would be a problem.

kinda bummed I made the purchase for 2 URLs...
