Error uploading this file to the server. 6 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,

Not sure if this is a 1.5 problem or not.

On trying to upload to Joomla 1.5RC4 I get the following error "There was an error uploading this file to the server." The system has Legacy 1.0 mode enabled.

This problem seems to occur with any JJ template.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Biagio

Hi Biagio,
Can you confirm that you unzipped the download (as the download file includes other non template files and needs to be extracted first)? Also, have you got ftp mode enabled in your sites global config? If its enabled, but not setup properly, this might also cause a problem..
Cheers,
Chris

Re:Error uploading this file to the server. 4 Months ago Karma: 0
I am also having a problem with ftp. I upload my unzipped, unzipped again template via ftp to my public_html/tmp folder. I have legacy on, change the chrom to 755 and then try and connect from my site using the same user name and password that I sue for ftp and it won't connect to the server. It also says it cannot work in passive mode. I am confused about this. Am I supposed to upload files to public_html/tmp and then download to my website? When would I upload to my database? If I try to install through install on my site I get a "cannot find xml file." That is because there is a zipped file within a zip file, I guess. Can anyone help me with this??? I spent hours last night with no success. I am new at this and don't want to make random changes that I will regret later.

Hi Cuppan,
We are you unzipping the template? Why not just install the template by clicking the "Browse > Select Template > Install". In all the years i've used joomla / mambo i have never ever needed to do a ftp install.
Cheers,
Chris
