Legacy Mode? 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi.
I´m running Joomla 1.5.1 . Many Modules and Components are not running yet on 1.5.1 . But in Legacy-Mode they will.
Is it possible to run this Template in Legacy-Mode?

Hi Nf,
Yes we have a native version for 1.5, so you would just install that and it will work fine with legacy mode on
Cheers,
Chris

Have you plan to offer Native 1.5 versions of yours templates without Legacy mode ?
In fact, my Ario template is my only reason to active Legacy mode...
Plus, is it normal that the params.ini file miss in my .zip that I've downloaded ?
Thanks for all

Same problem for me.
I also have other little bugs (I will post it later).
I have to build a big portail is it better to stay with Joomla 1.0.x/Ario or try Joomla 1.5.x/Ario/Legacy mode ? or maybe the best is Joomla 1.5.x/Ario without legacy mode but if I understand well I will have to wait for a (true) native 1.5 version of Ario.

I always said that I will never buy a joomla template. You guys succeeded to change my opinion
Thanks for the good works!

You will get a lot of different opinions on that matter. I myself would say go with 1.5 because there is always a workaround or better component/module being made, or made for it to fill your needs.

Chris and Andrew will probably say that 1.0 is the way to go due to the years of support and excellent proven security that 1.0 provides.

Neverthless with any big site you build some decisions cannot be reversed and sometimes you will have to change plans midstream. I have myself built entire sites and had to suck it up an rebuild it with 1.0 for some reason or another. Try them both on a test server locally and see if all the components and modules you require install and work well, then make your decision from there.

Thanks for your answer.
You are right, I think I will setup both, maybe I will make the 1.0.x online and tried to update regularly an offline 1.5.x version.
