I have joined the club and downloaded Ario Dark this morning and tried to install it (the Ario 1.5 within the zip so I assume this is Native 1.5) on Joomla 1.5.0 which is running legacy mode.
I am however getting an error when legacy mode is switched on. It's not a major issue as it relates to a single component which isn't used much so both have been disabled until the problem is resolved.
Any ideas? Do I need to update from Joomla 1.5.0 to 1.5.3?
Steve

Ok, is it me or wasn't this a reply earlier in this thread...
Hi Nf,
Yes we have a native version for 1.5, so you would just install that and it will work fine with legacy mode on
Cheers,
Chris
I read that as being that the Native 1.5 version WILL work with Legacy mode on yet now you say I should expect to get an error.
I would be grateful if you could clarify as two 'admins' don't seem to be able to agree... Otherwise looks my like my money was wasted!

Hola Steve
Sorry about the confusion, I had to even go back and confer with Chris myself for clarification. Sorry if I made it confusing, I can see how it would be in retrospect.
1) Ario version 1.5 and Joomla 1.5 good.
2) Ario version 1.5 and Joomla 1.5+legacy= bad.
3) Ario version 1.0 and Joomla 1.5+legacy off=good
The rest of our templates you can in fact run J1.5 in legacy and a 1.5 template without issues, and this is what Chris is referring to. In the specific case of Ario unfortunatly due to some specific code used in it this is not possible however.
Due to us giving out both versions we feel we have covered the bases for the scenarios people might run into. If you have to run legacy for a component then you can just as easily run the 1.0 version of the template with no ill effects.
I can see your potential argument to be if the component you have to run in legacy mode ever upgrades then you want to be able to turn off legacy and be done with it. I assure you we are actively working on a solution for this little quirk and send out automatic updates to people who have purchased from us no matter your club status or if you bought the template outright.
Again sorry for the confusion an I hope this clears everything up.

That sorts it perfectly especially due to the fact that that 1.0 will work with legacy mode.
Thank you for your help and explaining my options.

Hi
Just to say that a fix would be idea urgently. Whilst the two versions are almost identical, I note that appearance of the side menus (I have a user menu appear) is far superior in the Joomla 1.5 version than the Joomla 1.0 version. Chalk and cheese really from the point of view of our users.
Typically, we have been talking today of the next developments for our site and plan to introduce another major (in terms of use) module in the next 1-2 months which will only work in legacy mode.
Thanks
Steve
