Text size problems in Absolute Flush 2 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi guys, l'm hoping you will be able to help me!
We purchased Flush a few weeks ago, and have been working on our site ever since. l've got a few problems with text sizes in different areas of the site, and although l have tinkered a bit with the stylesheets, l'm not sure if l have made matters worse - l'm not used to such a detailed stylesheet!

Link: Aussie Scrapbooking

The top paragraph (welcome to aussie scrapbooking) l would like to be the same sized text as in the articles 'gorgeous galleries' and 31 days of prizes'. l've attached an image file of the module positions we have used. (the 'welcome to aussie' is static content and fixed in this position as a permanent welcome)

We would also like to:
-increase the text size of th 'latest forum posts' box at the bottom - would this be in flush or the module stylesheet?
-centre the banner ad at the top of each site page
-remove the images behind the banner (so that it is either floating on a white background, or can l insert some sort of decorative image/placeholder/frame sort of thing behind it?)
-fix the photo display issues in IE7 on the marketplace page

Thanks in advance for your help, and please let me know if there is any further info you require!

Hello Scrap:

Well that was certainly a lot of questions.

Lets try to tackle these systematically. It's possible the font size is changing due to the module positions you are using. SO, lets look at the banner and work our way down.

You mentioned you wanted to lose the background image on the the banner. That looks like module styling since it is in the top position. If you move your banner down into the user8 position, the top will disappear and you will now have a banner position without the grey background.

Moving down into the user8 spot it looks like you have inserted your content into there via a html module. If you removed that and simply put the content in to a article and then homepaged the article that might solve your issue with conflicting font sizes.
I could be waay off as well since I am doing a fair bit of guessing.

-latest forum post question. Not sure, I didn't see a stylesheet being loaded for it. I am not familiar with that specific module I would think it is the modules issue unless I had more info.

-photo display issues in com_marketplace. I loaded up that page and didn't notice much wrong. Did you mean the com_marketplace module? If so that might be more of a issue for the developer of that component.
(just as a heads up, I found a lot of sites mentioning the component had a security issue depending on which version you had. Just letting you know just in case. http://www.internet-web-hosting.co.za/joomla-security/joomla-com-marketplace.html )

Hi Matt,
thanks so much for taking the time to reply!

l moved the banner as you suggested, and although it had the desired effect, l've decided l like it in the top position better, only because it then appears more 'sepaerate' to the other content. Is it possible to center it in the top module position?

yes, l think we did this to make this paragraph 'sticky' - if it was just an article then it kept disappearing off the front page as we wrote new articles. But l'll check if there is a better way of keeping it on the homepage. l'm not too fussed if it moves around o here, but l need it to remain on the homepage at all times

The other stuff - thanks, l'll keep trying

The easiest way to keep your main page blurb in place is to create a section like "mainpage_article", then plublish it to frontpage. Do not put other articles under that category.
Then go to mainmenu and select home, and make sure you only have 1 leading and 1 intro article to be published under basic settings.

No more constantly flipping frontpage articles.

If this is done and the banner bit is moved then it "should" appear the same as what you have no but without the backround. I might have my modules mixed up though.

Centering the banner? Let me look into that more.

Hi Matt,
l can't thank you enough for your response - l learned something new! l didn't realise that the mainmenu home link controlled how many articles/columns etc went on the frontpage. *doh*...there are so many things l still have to learn
