Hello, I have installed the super slider, and am testing it out with some immages (although not great ones) just to try it out. I uploaded a test picture and set the thumbnail max specs. Already I found it weird that they are max specs and not actual size of the thumbnails. Anyways, i finally got a nice thumnail just like in the demo and I added another test picture. Only, the second thumbnail was about 5 pixels tall and 10 pixels wide (instead of 25 x 100). Again, the first thumbnail looks like the demo and the second one was teenie tiny. After reading the guide and looking through the forums I used FTP to delete the old thumbnails in the thumbnail folder.... just like the guide reccommends. Now, the thumbnails are the same size, but they are both very very tiny. When I look at the thumbnail folder now, there is nothing in it at all. What am I doing wrong? |

Hello Matt, I just checked, and yes the folder permissions are set to 755. It is writing thumbnails to the folder, as when I checked, the thumbnails files are there again now. The parameters I am talking about are in the super slider module options at the bottom of the mopule option list. It looks exactly like your picture... but when I hover over the text (to read the tool tip) it says "The maximum height the thumbnail can be". I have set this to alot of numbers, and each time i change them I erase the old thumbnail images. My current settings are: height 50, width 100. But again, I have tried a few numbers. As you can see they are actually like 8 tall and 12 wide. |

Nryan115 Have you tried testing locally or another webhost? This is a odd behavior and nobody else has experienced it so I am not sure. I want to be able to rule out your webhosts server and or Apache build. |

Well, I do not have a linux machine arround so I cannot test this locally, and I am not about to go pay for another host just to test this. There must be another way / and or I cant be the only person who is having this problem. Everything else on my site works including your templates, fireboard, community builder, etc etc if there was a problem with my host it sems as if i would be having problems with more than just this one mod dont u think?

Thats a bit extreme to setup a nix box locally. I was merely suggesting testing on WAMP, MAMP, LAMP or any of the hundreds of one click web-server tools available. There are quite a few for Joomla as well. Building sites locally will greatly speed up your production process as well. You can checkout popular Joomla oriented ones here: Standalone Servers - Joomla! Extensions Directory We at JoomlaJunkie use Mamp for Mac. Working locally will help you debug issues faster, as well as have a backup location for when soemthing isnt working as expected on your webhost. While I agree the chances of it being your webhost might be only about 20%, doing a quick test locally or on another host would allow you to see if it is a simple misconfiguration issue, or if its something more complex like GD not working properly on your host. In the big scheme of things it only takes about 5 minutes to do a Joomla install and if it gets you closer to resolving your issue I think its time well spent. I myself am unable to recreate your issue, and nobody else has had any similar problems, so the next reasonable thing to look at is your host or your setup. That is just my advice. |

Ok, it took me forever but I got one of the 'made for joomla' standalone servers which you linked to in your last post. I was able to move my site to my local computer. I then went to my local directory, and deleted the slideshow thumbnails from the thumbnail directory (as suggested). Next, i refreshed the local website in my browser, and it recreated the thumbnails (like it is supposed to). However, the thumbnails it created were once again created very small. The properties of the images report their size to be: 50x13 pixels. What else can I do to help solve this problem? |

So, we are getting closer to two months since my last post and havnt heard back. Usually you guys are the best at making that not happen. I am still unable to get to thumbnails generated to be anything buy tiny. Since my last post I have changed the images completely and now I just have more tiny thumbnails.
