| Answered: Displays tweets from one Twitter account but not another
Hey guys, Strange one here. The Simple Tweet module isn't displaying tweets for my client's account, but works fine when we switch it to our own. AFAIK, Twitter doesn't need authorisation to display a feed on an external site provided your tweets are public (which they are). Any ideas? |

Hmm.. that certainly is weird. Twitters api has changed a lot since we built this module so it could be time for an overhaul.. where do we find the time though :P What you can do is use the Simple RSS feed reader module instead. Its part of the QI, I actually use it on Emphatic.. look in the footer shelf (bottomshelf3) in the middle.. its a little more flexible. Maybe an alternative. Glad you like the twitter avatar :) I also hear you are a fan of my latest masterpiece.. the block builder... holy hamburgers.. hahahaha.. |

Hi bigspring, We've seen this one before, and it's a bit of an odd one... Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't and at the end of the day all that was needed was a few hours of waiting and then it just worked. That said, I've asked our developers to pop in here to share their experience and ideas around this. Cheers, Tess

OK, thanks. Because of the previous posts on here, I've had the module set up for a few days to check if it was just a delay thing. Doesn't look like it is :( Also, if I change it to our own personal twitter account, it shows the tweets instantly. |

I cant really think of any reason this wont work, it treats all the accounts the same, its a pretty simple module and I cant see any reason it wont work on one particular. Have you tried other accounts? Or tried his acc on another install? Is it only his that does not work? Try jMorph, andyjamesneale, connectr and any others and see if it works.. not really sure what else to suggest. if you send me his username I can try on one of the modules on my dev setup and see if his works for me.

I've tried it with the accounts you've suggested and have found out a little more. 1) jMorph - works, but only loads the last 2 tweets despite being set to 10 2) andyjamesneale - doesn't display any tweets 3) connectr - works and displays the last 10 tweets (correct) The module isn't loading jQuery, and the only jQuery script on the page is that which is loaded by Morph. It also makes no difference if I load jQuery through simpletweet. Does that help at all? I can PM you site login details if it helps. Cheers.

Haha. That was my business partner who shares the account, but I'd have to agree too. That's a cool feature! I'm more of a code monkey myself, but he's a layout/design guy who adores morph and won't shut up about it. In fact, I wish it wasn't as good as it is so I could get some peace and quiet. Hahah. Will try the rss feed reader instead. Thanks for the advice. |
