Answered: Add support for facebook pages

What is your live site URL? (localhost if none): localhost
What browser does this happen in: Firefox 3.x
What version of Joomla: Joomla 1.5
What OS? (your computer, not your server): Window

I think a "facebook profile" is good just for a personal site but not for a company/club site which uses facebook pages instead.

Could you please add support for facebook page?

In the meantime I've hacked the module

Hi Enrico,

Thanks for the suggestion - it's something I've been thinking about as well. :) "Hacking" the module is quite easy, so for now that's the best way to go but we'll take a look in general on this extension to see if there are any other changes to the list of networks as well.

As usual, we'll keep you posted via twitter and the blog. :)

Cheers,
Tess

Thank you, Tess.
I almost forgot. Could you please add language file to all joomlajunkie modules? It's time-consuming editing language in .php/.xml files rather than just edit a language .ini file.

Thanks.

Hm, language files is something beyond my knowledge so I'll ask one of the devs to look into it. :)

Cheers,
Tess

The Facebook profile/pages is a good point. Might be best to have it as a variable in the future.

It's simple.

In mod_simplesocial.xml add:
Code:
<languages>
<language tag="en-GB">en-GB.mod_simplesocial.ini</language>
</languages>
then in mod_simplesocial.php change string like:
Code:
title="Connect with me on Facebook"
to something like:
Code:
title="<?php echo JText::_('MOD_simplesocial_facebook');?>"
Then create en-GB.mod_simplesocial.ini file and add language strings:
Code:
MOD_simplesocial_facebook=Connect with me on Facebook
