Answered: Module Suffix? Icons/links are not showing, only in a ordered list

What is your live site URL? (localhost if none): http://flmsry.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=66&Itemid=58
What browser does this happen in: Firefox 3.x
What version of Joomla: Joomla 1.5
What OS? (your computer, not your server): Mac
Joomla experience level: 3

Can't seem to get the Simple Social module to look like the demo. Is there a suffix for this?

Thanks,

First question, nope, no module suffix is needed. Possibly you are loading the css or not using the images? Here is the demo's settings, hopefully it will help. (just ignore the suffix, as it's for the demo)

Click the image to open in full size.

As for your second question, are you hosting your wordpress site? If so that won't work, as it's on your own url, not being hosted at wp.com (ex: wordpress.com/flmsry) The module is more for showing people your social interactions away from your main site.

One more thing....Simple Social

When I added my WordPress username as required in the module, it says that my blog is not activated, but you can view it here....

FLM SRY Ask The Rock

So what have I done wrong? I can't find a place in Wordpress that says my blog is NOT activated, so is it something with the module?

Thanks for your help!

I am having the same issue icons not showing
my settings are set to the above though I do have more parameters. (I just downloaded the module this evening, so it could be a newer version) as far as I can tell all the icons seem to be installed right

Hi valuevoters,

Do you have your site live so we can take a look? :)

Thanks,

I've tried it on a bunch of sites, just spent 15 minutes or so trying all the settings, nothing but ../images/arrow.png for the icons.

where are these favicon/generic images supposed to be located, anyway?

Hi Ken,

I tried to re-create the issue on my local installs and actually managed to get the same as you (I think?) - no icons showing, just a bullet list. However, after clearing my cache in the browser (FF) it all displayed like it should (with the relevant icons).

Give it a try, clear your cache and let me know if it sorted things out. If not, please give us the url to a site where it doesn't display like it should and we'll definitely take a closer look.

Cheers,
Tess

Tess, I have tried this thing on probably a half-dozen different sites, through probably hundreds of refreshes/cache clears, and it has never, ever done anything differently.

The most recent site I have tried it on, just over the last few days, was onthegovip.com - it's in the left position. You can see that every entry in the list has an icon of url("../images/arrow.png") no-repeat scroll left center transparent - there's apparently a CSS file missing. I have tried with Use Module's CSS both off and on.

I am not certain that I have the latest, but I believe that I have tried a couple of different versions, with no success.

It would be great if it worked, but my conclusion is that it doesn't.

Hi Ken,

I've finally managed to re-create this, and it seems the module doesn't see the css file (which is needed for the icons to display). I am not sure why this happens and under what circumstances, but I've asked the devs to look into it.

Cheers,
Tess
