| Answered: Morph 3, Joomla 2.5 and Joomla Junkie website
Have been checking daily for news about Morph 3 and any progress regarding readiness for Joomla 2.5 but any news on this site, Prothemer, Twitter or the Morph site is no fresher than mid December... There is also info on the Prothemer site, as there has been for some considerable time, that Joomla Junkie site will migrate over: "we’re only a few weeks away from re-branding Joomla Junkie to Prothemer" was posted 6th December... Apart from the fact that I would love to hear some concrete news, especially about Morph and Joomla 2.5 compatibility, I'm also looking forward to Joomla Junkie finally moving to Prothemer so that it is not necessary to check 3 different sites for news, only 2! When the migration does happen...will there also be clear links to the GetMorph site so we only have to go to one address in order to get access to everything else? I wil be renewing subscription as soon as the updates happen and hope also that there are some new themelets on the way?? (or even better; easier ways to customize Morph/basic themelet) best wishes Laurence |

Hey Laurence, As you say, there is a lot of stuff cooking and while we're desperate to starting launching all the goodness we've been working on for the past few months, things always tend to take longer than we anticipate, due to the unpredictable day-to-day operations of the business. I think the safest estimate at this stage is another couple weeks. I realize thats pretty vague, but we have a lot on our plates at the moment and while we're moving steadily moving forward every week, the projects (ie, internal plumbing) we're working on are all essential to plans for Prothemer moving forward. The Prothemer site itself is about 80% complete and we're probably looking at about 3 weeks before it'll be ready to launch. Morph 2.5 is making great progress and the Techjoomla guys have managed to fix 4 of the current 7 bugs listed on Github. We're currently working on the long-standing Google Instant bug and will hopefully have that one crossed off the list soon. Andy and I are both working through the templates changes and will be posting our findings on Github too. As for new themelets, Andy's been cooking up a super sexy minimalist themelet called Simpla. Don't let the name fool you, as its a super comprehensive, beautifully designed theme. He's still polishing the design and it probably won't move into the focus until Prothemer is launched. We've been doing a lot of work internally to streamline the themelet creation process, so that we're able to release themelets more frequently. Cheers, Chris |

Hi guys, I've asked the owners of Joomlajunkie to jump in here with more information, but in short: in the end of last year, we decided to not continue the Nooku version of Morph. This due to Nooku changing too much and it still being in beta. Many extension developers took the same decision around the same time, and chose to focus on the upgrade to Joomla! 2.5 instead (which is a big upgrade with many changes). Stay tuned for more info. Cheers, Tess |

Hey guys, I've been planning a multi-part blog post, which covers the current state of affairs with regards to Morph, Prothemer and a bunch of other exciting developments. I realize we've been a bit quite and haven't done a great job keeping our members in the loop, but that is only because we're hard at work getting Morph ready for 2.5 and finishing the new Prothemer site. As Tess mentioned, we decided to shelf the Nooku version, as it was holding us back and not having a Joomla 1.6/1.7 version of Morph has impacted the business a lot. We still believe in Nooku, but without the necessary skills in-house (and there being a general shortage of Nooku developers available) we had to rethink our strategy for Morph. As such, we have partnered with the talented guys from Techjoomla, who are currently helping us with the standard upgrade of Morph to Joomla 2.5. The new version will be a unified package, working on both Joomla 1.5 and 2.5. Once the general support for 1.5 has been dropped by Joomla, we will follow suite and remove the Joomla 1.5 compatibility layer. Regarding the Prothemer site, we're working furiously to get the new site finished, so that we can finally move away from the JJ brand. We've put a ton of thought into the new site and merged as many of our systems as possible, while providing a much smoother experience for our members. I'm going to refrain from specifying an actual launch date, but it'll definitely be within Q1 of this year. The Morph 2.5 conversion is going well and so far, Morph is installable on 1.7 and most of the functionality in Configurator is working. My focus this week is to spend some time working through the template and documenting any show stoppers, so we can get them resolved asap. I know this probably doesn't answer all of your questions, but the blog post I'm writing for the new Prothemer site launch will cover our future plans in a lot more detail. If there are any specific questions you'd like answered, please don't hesitate to ask. Cheers, Chris |

Thanks very much Chris, that answers the essential question regarding Morph's movement toward Joomla 2.5. No timeline offered as to when this might be...and the reply was two weeks ago now.. Nothing regarding new themelets either... Sounds like things are about to happen, though that has been in the air for some time... Are we talking imminent...days? or still weeks? best wishes Laurence PS Any idea why when I log in, the first time I get "invalid username/password" then I enter the same (already correct) details again, and I am logged on..??
