Unanswered: Morph Issues - MUST FIX - Will Pay

I purchased Morph a while back and since I've setup my site using the framework, my site acts odd with various bugs. www.mmabigshow.com
#1. The alignment of things on the homepage switches back and forth between normal and skewed.
#2. The logo on the top right switches back and forth between my logo and the template logo, appears random.
#3. The inset panel of the site often appears at the bottom of the site.
#4. I get random Jfolder::could not create errors on the homepage.
#5. When I publish an article or make any changes to the homepage I either have to wait a while or link to it directly before it will appear on the homepage.

I REALLY need this fixed. I tried getting help on the Morph support forums when I was a member but nobody offered any help, not even when I offered to pay them.

I'm getting beyond frustrated. Is Morph so bad off that nobody will touch it at this point?

Hi mmabigshow,

At this point, from what we can tell, it seems none of the issues you're having are related to Morph (see more info below):

#1. The alignment of things on the homepage switches back and forth between normal and skewed
#3. The inset panel of the site often appears at the bottom of the site.
This is hard to pin-point the cause of without digging around on your site, but based on our experience it sounds like you have an un-closed < div > somewhere on your page. Please go through your articles and double-check all the code to find where you have an un-closed tag. The easiest trick to find the module or article where the issue might occur, is to unpublish the articles/modules one by one and refresh the home page to see if the issue is solved. If solved, then you know which article/module you need to look closer into.

#2. The logo on the top right switches back and forth between my logo and the template logo, appears random.
This is something I've never seen reported before. Just to clarify: do you mean that your site sometimes show Creativa's logo and sometimes your own logo?

#4. I get random Jfolder::could not create errors on the homepage.
Here we've got permission issues, still. Please contact your host to reset your permissions (folders: 755 files: 644) and ownerships (apache or the webserver) (see your previous discussions via pm with Andrew regarding this). This is a very important thing to do, and hosts are incredibly used to to this. A simple message sent to your host will sort this out.

#5. When I publish an article or make any changes to the homepage I either have to wait a while or link to it directly before it will appear on the homepage.
Cache issues most likely. Still not Morph related. Publishing of content to your home page is related to Joomla, not the template you are using.

In summary: it looks as none of your issues mentioned above are related to Morph, but it looks like they're either related to an unclosed div (or bad markup), or permission/ownership issues on your server. Please make 100% sure you eliminate both those reasons first.

When trying to login to your Joomla admin with the details you previously sent us, this is the error message we see:
Warning: fopen(/home/jappleton/domains/mmabigshow.com/public_html/logs/error.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /usr/home/jappleton/domains/mmabigshow.com/public_html/libraries/joomla/error/log.php on line 202
This confirms the permission issues you're having, showing that you must talk to your hosting company about this or you will experience a lot of odd issues for your websites.

Now, just to set the facts straight regarding "I tried getting help on the Morph support forums when I was a member but nobody offered any help, not even when I offered to pay them."

We replied to you, offering to help you free of charge (which we also did):

"Send me a Private Message with your server details and site admin etc and I will check what's up. We wont charge you unless its server issues you are having or something causing the issues.

If its Morph related then its our pleasure to help you get it working no charge. Rather pay us to help you with the development"
(source: Can I pay someone to help? )

The rest of the support was managed via private messages here on the forum, between you and our co-owner Andrew. I have read through all your messages and below you'll find a summary of what happened (for the record):

In the first round, we did everything we could based on the details you sent us. We sent you recommendations and lots of suggestions for how to solve the issues you were having (all of them related to your server, not Morph). We are always helping our members as much as we possibly can, and you know that we go way and beyond only handling Morph related issues. In your case, we helped you with your server related issues and did plenty of research to give you the best possible answers.

"The best thing to do is send your host and email and ask them to make a full site backup and then reset all the permissions and ownership, they should know what to do. Just tell them you are having permission issues and some extensions are not uploading correctly.

I have spoken to the other dev's on the team and they say the same, and have referred some other members who also had permission issues to do the same and this fixed it for them.

Once you have done this, reply to me with access to your hosts admin or cpanel and I will install everything for you so you can get started. I need access to the admin panel so that I can unzip the joomla install archive on your server, since this cant be done via ftp. Unzipping on the server will also ensure that the ownership is apache/php."
This is how it all ended:

Now, to move on:

Please let us know if you managed to get your server permission issues sorted out or if you would like us to continue helping you with it?

Please note, at this point, if the issues are still related to your server etc, you will be charged for the time spent by our developer from now on. If the issues are related to Morph, nothing will be charged.

Let us know how you'd like to move forward.

Thanks,
Tess
