Answered: Cannot purchase membership using 2checkout

Hi

After looking around the site as an unpaid member I like what I see and would like to upgrade to a copper membership initially. The problem is that when I click the link to go to checkout I always get the following error:

ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While trying to retrieve the URL: https://checkout.2checkout.com/checkout/purchase?

The following error was encountered:

•Zero Sized Reply
Squid did not receive any data for this

Any ideas?
Thanks

We prefer all transactions to go through 2co.....ok....our accountant does :), but if you need to you can send the paypal payment to matt {at} prothemer.com and I can do it all manually.

Hi Macoll

Sorry for the difficulties. This is a new issue we have never seen before. Can you tell me what pages you are using to get to this point. Let me know the links, possibly that will help.

On my end I tested it and this is what I did.
I went to this page and logged in (with a test account)
Code:
http://www.joomlajunkie.com/secure/member.php
I then click the "add/renew" box and picked my membership.
Click the image to open in full size.

After I did this I was shipped off to 2Checkout where I was offered the chance to pay via Paypal or 2Checkout, and then it asked me for my details.

I did not go farther then this, as I am not sure where in your transaction you are failing. I am guessing it was sooner.

I am hoping this helps. Let me know, and we will do everything possible to get you rolling and make it right. :D

Thanks for the quick reply. Your method is the exact way I am going except that when I choose any membership upgrade from the drop down and click the 'Procedd to Checkout' button, the error appears.

Hmmm. I am not able to recreate this at all. I have tried in Chrome and FF 3.6. Have you tried a different browser? maybe a FF plug-in is causing it?

You can also try and logout and create an entirely new account via signing up here.
JoomlaJunkie Template Club

Set it up as Macoll-1 or something and we can sort it all out after the transaction is done.

This is strange. I'm using firefox but also tried explorer and both the same. I'm starting to think it may be a pc issue but can't find any reference to the same problem via google. I'l try with another pc but just in case is there a direct paypal link to upgrade the membership?

Hi macoll,

Please let us know which browser are you using, and also if you can please give it a try in a different browser and let us know if it makes a difference?

I've tried in both Safari and Firefox and can unfortunately not recreate the problem. (Matt, which browsers have you tested?)

Also, comparing the url you mention in your first post I see a difference, but not sure why you would end up on a different url (please confirm that the url is what you previously mentioned):

https://checkout.2checkout.com/checkout/purchase? (your url)
https://www2.2checkout.com/checkout/purchase? (my url)

Thanks,
Tess
