| Answered: morph- size of css and scripts
Hi, I'm using pingdom tools to analyse how "heavy" the site is. Usually templates hae 100kB css and 100kB script. But when I check themlets Welcome to the Morph Quick Installer it gives me really low size. How can I check it properly? |

Hi Konstantindk Well I think you answered your own question there. Morph is not your typical heavy template. :) I just tested it myself with Pingdom and I got these results. They look spot on accurate to me. ![]() Pretty cool eh? You are basically seeing how amazingly optimized Morph is over standrad templates. It only loads what it needs to load, and when it does even that, it does it in the most efficient way possible. |

Hi Konstantindk, Just to follow up on what Matt said, performance is a really big part of our motivation and what we're doing with Morph, so we have already put serious effort into making sure that it is as optimized as humanly possible and we won't stop there. Already we are combining each of the individual css and javascript files into 1 of each, then we are minifying both the css and javascript (this essentially means we strip out all comments and whitespace from the live packed version reducing each to a single line), then we are also gzipping both the css and js, which brings the total file size down dramatically and then last but not least, we recently added a new independent caching engine as well. Obviously the total css and js used will vary from themelet to themelet, as some are more complex than others, but overall Morph is and always will be nice and zippy ;) Hope this answers your question :) Cheers, Chris |
