Answered: Some questions about morph

Hi, before registering I have a few questions about Morph. I see somewhere on your blog that your going to support some third party extensions like jomsocial, jcomments..what this support means ? Are this extensions not supported or there are any problems in using any joomla extension with morph/themelets ? Sorry for the stupid question but will any joomla extension will work with morph like with any other joomla template ? Because I'm a little confused about what support means, I hope it's not something like k2 for which you need to modify the plugins/modules to be compatible. I like the vanilla themelet, i want to use it for a community project, together with kunena, jomsocial, a blog component..

As with any template in the Joomlasphere, sometimes some components or modules do not look right, render right, follow the same theme, and in some cases, might not even work. You will find this with any template company really. It's impossible for clubs to make a template that is 100% compatible with every single Joomla extension. It's sort of like having a car and buying aftermarket parts for it. In most cases, the part will work fine, but on occasion you might need to tweak it a bit for your car.

Morph is no different, and has a LOOOT of optimizations and features that other templates do not have that will make your site load faster, be leaner and still be as fancy or as simple as you wish it to be, all while still giving you the ability to change far more things then a standard template.

Our statement about supporting 3rd party components basically means we have taken some of the most popular or favorite extensions and made sure they worked with Morph and looked great. In the case of jComments, we make sure the comments theme matches the themelet you are using. Things like that.

If you go to Joomla.org and install Fancy extension A, then Fancy template B, there will alwasy be some sort of little tweaking that needs done here and there. In the case of Moprh and support extensions, we do the tweaking for you.

Hope that helps. :)

Yes, I understand, of course I will need tweaking a little in some cases, that's why I will use Vanilla themelet, the problems with the other templates is that tweaking was a hell. I was struggling a lot with customization although, despite of my somehow dumb questions, I'm not that noob, In fact i usually make a lot of customizations to my templates.
Thank you, I will register soon.

I suppose it all depends upon your comfort level and what was complicated for you. All templates come down to css and javascript really, so as long as you use Firebug and know your way around a stylesheet anything is possible.

There are no dumb questions here. Trust me, I fire off plenty. :)
