Hi,

I can't access my website anymore from the administrator system. What happens is that the fields on the login page go back to blank after I fill in user details and press login. I have googled the problem and asked for help in the Joomla forum without any success as nobody seems to recognize the problem. Some files have been updated and changed recently such as controller.php and users.php. Joomla has also been updated from 1.5.23 to 1.5.25 version.

I have no idea how to proceed from here and would highly appreciate any help.

Hey Catherine,
The first question I have to ask is why you're making changes to the core Joomla files? Hacking the core is the equivalent of opening a massive can of worms and is not recommended.

Also, since this is something that has happened before, did you take a backup before making the changes?

Hey Chris,

The changes to the files were actually not really made recently but some months ago when I tried to create individual member logins. I then tried out this hack suggested in the Joomla forum by the user Fledgling: Joomla! • View topic - User Specific Login Redirect

As that didn't work out for me I got help with restoring the files and everything looked and seemed alright again. Since then I haven't touched any code in any file and that's why I don't have an idea how this problem could happen.

I have done backups via Akeeba Backup but is that any help now that I can't even access the administrator background?
