Weird IE Issue

Ok, this only happens with IE:

Here is my page: http://www.taulbeetown.com/oarcok

When you first go to the page, click on the top picture on the right side \"Governor Brad Henry\" it should take you to a page with his picture and a quote. Next if you click home then try to click his picture again, it loades that page as if it were a module on the homepage. This does not happen with any other browser. Any ideas? The first time you go to it when visiting the site the url is http://www.taulbeetown.com/oarcok/in...=article&id=51 but after trying to click it again the url switches to this: index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=51&It emid=1. Anyone know why this happens?

Also, on another note, i\'d like those quote pages to look like the home -> Brad Henry instead of just saying Home.

Thanks,

Re:Weird IE Issue

HI Caleb,

This is a weird issue and it looks like its a url issue in Joomla, I dont see how this is template related if its changing the url.. have you tried with SEF turned on?

There is one possibility but I doubt it... I just noticed a small bug in Ario with ie6 caused by a conflict with J! 1.5 using mootools. Ario uses jquery in a no conflict mode, but the version of jquery in Ario is older and needs upgrading to handle correctly.

Please replace these 2 files in your template/js directory.

jquery.js and switcher.js

See if this makes a difference... [file name=Ario_1.zip size=31809]http://www.joomlajunkie.com/images/fbfiles/files/Ario_1.zip[/file]

Re:Weird IE Issue

ok i replaced the two files, but it didn\'t fix the problem. However, my suckerfish menu was always a little buggy, meaning sometimes when i\'d hover over it the transparency would be too transparent to where i could barely see the words...could this have helped that?

Re:Weird IE Issue

do you think it has anything to do with those images and text being in a mod_custom module? perhaps there is a better way to do what i\'m wanting to do? i tried setting up those \"accolades\" like a menu, but i could never get the text on their names to fit in the template properly.

Re:Weird IE Issue

I dont see anything wrong with the way you have it, what I find strange is that the url changes when you go back to the home page... You see there is an extra \"&Itemid=1\" at the end of the link, I know that joomla is famous for itemid problems...

See, the home page link in the menu is

index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid =1 (see the item id)

When you click this, the link you mention changed

However click on the logo which is linked to plain

index.php

Then the itemid is not added!

Re:Weird IE Issue

ok let\'s break this down....#1 This only happens with IE, #2 It does not appear to be happening on the other joomla default template.

Is there anyway to hard code the home menu link to index.php ?

also wanted to say that i\'ve never een able to get the SEF thing to work. All my pages are missing or the formatting is off. I even installed this: sh404SEF and it wont work either. I saw the post in these forums about SEF, so i changed my htaccess.txt to htaccess and it still wont work.

Re:Weird IE Issue

Hi,

I am not sure what else to say, logically, I cant see how the template can change the way the links and url\'s are parsed, this is handled by Joomla, as well as the seo. It really sounds like a Joomla itemid problem (see how it changes the link and adds the itemid) which I mentioned before....

Ok, I quickly did a google and came up with this..... looks like your problem

http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=42646

This is only one example but it has been a problem with Joomla ever since I can remember.... a loooong time now ;)

Search google for more examples and hopefully a solution....
