Help with Ario Setup

First let me say that I\'m sorry I\'m a noob. Haha. Second, I am having trouble following the template guide.

I can only assume that the templat guide is written for joomla 1.0x. I was having some issues using ario 1.5 naitive so I am currnetly using ario 1.0x on a joomla 1.5.3 site with legacy mode enabled. There are a few things about the template guide that I do not understand.

The guide says step2 #1: \"TOOLBAR - We have used the \"other menu\" to create the top icon menu. open the \"other menu\" from your site modules section in your site administration, change its position to \"toolbar\" and give it a menu class suffix of -top.\" - Well I do not have an \"othermenu\" (so I created one) and there is no toolbar in my position drop down list.

I cannot get anything to display in the pathway area of the template.

Also, when I set my modules suffixes to \"h3striped\" or \"h3red\" or \"h3green\" They all end up the same way - bold and colored the same as the template color. The only one I really care about though is h3striped.

I honestly do not knwo what I am doing wrong, as I have tried to follow the guide but have been unable to. If it helps I have tried hard refreshing, clearing my cache, and tried the site on IE, Opera, and FireFox. If you want to look at the site www.aubunnies.net each of modules in the left menu are set to h3striped - and the moderator module (which I can see) is set to h3red and they all look like h3green (except blue as per the template color was changed following the demo on your site.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Nryan115

-What issues were you having with the template on 1.5?

-If you created \"othermenu\" in 1.5 it should show up in the drop down. I don\'t recall any more steps that need taken there. It\'s one of the perks of using 1.5 IMHO.

-As for module suffixes. In your examples given you are only listing half the code. Whn you enter a module suffixes are you using the full text? example:
Code:
-ario h3green h3striped
Also is your problem only with the left module position?

Re:Help with Ario Setup

Hey Matt,

You were the one who was trying to help me with my 1.5.3 naitive problems dont you remember me? lol. My problems were that it was giving me an erro everytime I tried to apply to naitive template and refreshed my website I got a function redefenition error. The thread was called \'question about 1.5 naitive\'.

Anyways, you are correct I did not include the -ario infront of the tags.
I have used -ario h3striped which has produced the striped title that I wanted, however this has also caused formatting issues. Once I applied the suffice to my modules - two of my smaller mmodules (login and user menu) now appear side by side instead of one on top of the other. I have tried changing their order n umber and they just stay side by side.

Also, when I use -ario h3striped it works well, but when I use -ario h3striped h3green OR -ario h3striped h3red there is absolutely no changes whatsoever. Hoever, using -ario h3color h3striped does make the color match the template default and have a striped background (EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED! yay) but I wanted to le tyou know that you cant specify red or green which is a bug i think?

I feel happy because I am getting places, however I still cant get anything to display in the \'pathway\' location - i still have no \'toolbar\' location to chose from and I really do wish to integrate the nifty searchbox into my site. When i add the search module to a location such as bottom or someplace it only shows a link to the search page but not the cool box for quick searches. Ideas?

EDIT: I\'ve been playing arround and noticed that since I enabled h3striped the actualy striping of the title is a different length for each module (unlike in your suffix demo page), specifically the length of the striping is only as long as the longest content in the module. I have noticed in one of my module (JAM messaging module) that the length of the striping will auto adjust when the content gets longer (for example when it says \'you have a new message\').

I believe this is directly related to my modules being side by side as when I change the content in the module, and make the title striping longer, the side by side module pops down and becomes side by side to the module which was previousely below it. I\'m sure that didnt make any sence but you are more than welcome to view it aubunnies.net due to the fact that it is the usermenu that is messing up you would have to log in to see the side by side modules. You can either create a profile or I could make a generic one and post it up here. Either way - i dont know why the modules are not just automatically the same width.

Double Edit: Sorry for being so annoying but I found out that this side by side module problem is ONLY a problem in opera - works fine in IE and in FireFox. The strange thing is that i\'ve been using all 3 browsers to test all along and this wasnt a problem untill i enabled -ario h3striped weird?

Re:Help with Ario Setup

Hi there,
risiking to look like a fool, I could do with some help, too.
Just installed Ario Dark in Joomla 1.5. All successfull.
But now site only shows white blank screen.
Where do I need to put fonts and source file folders? (if at all needed)

Unfortunately it doesn\'t say on Template Install guide.
Maybe you could do a General guide on what to do with all these \"spare\" files
before getting started.

Thanks for any help. Much appreciated

Re:Help with Ario Setup

Salomon

Font and source are only needed if you are opening it all up in Fireworks.

Your white screen issue sounds like you have something configured wrong in relation to what version of Joomla you are using and legacy mode, but it\'s just a guess.

For example if you are on J1.5, have the legacy mode plugin disabled, and have installed a 1.0 version template.

That is just one example but mixing around with version and legacy mode will do that.

Also for future reference please do not hijack other peoples threads with your issues. Please make your own thread so we can better service you and not confuse the process.

Re:Help with Ario Setup

ok well I am glad that you guys are talking about me :)
I dont mind much that he posted inhere but i know it makes it harder to keep track of people on your end.

I just wanted to clerify where I am currently.

[li]I have used \"-ario h3color h3striped\" and am extremely happy.[/li]
[li]Using \"-ario h3striped h3green\" (or red) does not do anything. (although I wanted h3color anyhow)[/li]
[li]Ever since using h3striped in the latest version of opera, two of my smaller (smaller in width)modules appear side by side in the left bar. Works fine in IE & FF.[/li]
[li]I created a mod_menu module called \"othermenu\" but am not able to set its locaiton to \'toolbar\' as I do not have a toolbar position.[/li]
[li]I cannot get anything to display in the pathway location.[/li]
[li]When I add the search module to the template it adds the word \"search\" which is a link to the search page, not a nifty search box.[/li]

To clerify, this website is using joomla 1.5.1 with legacy mode enabled and version 1.0.x of the ario dark template.

The problems I was having in my other thread related to joomla 1.5.3 using Ario-lite without legacy mode, using the 1.5 naitive template.

Thank you for spending time on this, and overall I am still having a good experiance. I am currently happy for having paid for a template subscription and look forward to getting these issues resolved.

Re:Help with Ario Setup

I have the same h3green/red problem, only h3color works.
I also have problems with menu and modules as you can see here:

Click the image to open in full size.

I have those problems with joomla 1.0.x and 1.5.x
I am under firefox3, maybe thats why, but I am not sure, because I have no problem with the demo template on the joomlajunkie\'s website!

Re:Help with Ario Setup

Hi Guys,

Just to note, on the new color pack version of Ario using -ario h3color\" is the way to change the module header to a color, it will adopt the color of the scheme you are using. This means that there is no h3red, h3blue etc, it is dynamic

\"nryan115\" as for the width breaking in Opera, try adding a width of 194px to the \"div.h3striped h3\" in the customize.css and see if this helps.

yeah, I think we all understood that, the problem is that we can\'t force a color. :(
\"-ario h3red\" doesn\'t works.
