| Question reguarding 1.5 naitive
Hello, I have a site which is running under one of the older versions of joomla. Recently I have toyed arround with v1.5 and in general like the look and feel and the general backend experiance I have had with it. I am considering a revamp of my current site to 1.5 starting from scratch - dont worry, not asking for upgrade help lol. I have installed a fresh copy of joomla 1.5.3 and installed ario-light. So far so good :) Next I installed the free trial of RS_Form! and created a simple contact me form as a test. When I click the preview form button I get the following error message in my browser: \"Fatal error: Cannot redeclare sefreltoabs() (previously declared in mysite/plugins/system/legacy/functions.php:872) in mysite/templates/ariolite/index.php on line 10\" I did some web searching and found a forum (which i had to translate to english) which suggested to alter the template line: function sefRelToAbs ($value) { return JRoute:: _ ($value); } With the following: if (! function_exists (“sefRelToAbs”)) { function sefRelToAbs ($value) { // Replace all & with & as the rout doesn\'t and-arose & $url = str_replace (“& ”, “&”, $value); if (substr (more strtolower ($url), 0.9)! = “index.php”) return $url; $uri = JURI:: getInstance (); $prefix = $uri->toString (array (“scheme”, “host”, “haven”)); return $prefix.JRoute:: _ ($url); } } I suppose my question(s) are - is this error in the template or form plugin I am using? What do you think of the code snipit I found? If it helps I am using the 1.5 naitive versin of Ario - as well as a 1.5 native version of the form plugin and legacy support is off. What do you think? |

I also wanted to add that I tried ario-dark on an existing working 1.5 (not 1.5.3) site and the homepage produces the exact same error message after I apply the template. Maybe I\'m just a noob. Edit: I wanted to add that the already up and running 1.5 site that I tried ario-dark on IS running in compatibility mode. So just wanted to mention that I tried it in both and I got that same error. |

Well, on one of the sites - it is literally just a fresh default installation (without sample data) of a 1.5.3 joomla which I installed ario-light and rs_form! and made no other changes so however the default joomla 1.5.3 is set up is what I am using. On the other site, I just checked and SEF is not on. I believe I simply have not gotten arround to turning it on but for now it is off. |

um,... except that I had mentioned that I applied the template to a working site that does not use RS_form and after I applied the template even the homepage had caused the same error to occure. Noone has commented on the code snippet I found - either saying try it or that its a bad idea, but from I can read out of the translation was that the template was written to use & instead of & but I honestly have no idea which is right. Here is the translated page: http://tinyurl.com/6klkz3 |

I just installed ario on a fresh 1.5.3 install on MAMP with php5 and had no errors at all. Not sure what to tell you about that. Maybe you have a plugin or something enabled that you missed? AS for what I can tell about the code snip, it was pasted as text without using code tags so it got mangled pretty bad. I would not use what you posted here for sure. If you want to try the post code feel free, but it looks to be inappropriate for ours, and since the really important words didn\'t get translated it is hard to really get the jist of what this fix is all about. It really looks like a SEF related issue. Are you sure you have all 3 of the SEF features turned off and your .htaccess file renamed back to htacess.txt?

Yeah I see what you mean about the code. Like I had said, installing ario on a fresh 1.5.3 worked fine untill i started to install other naitive addons. Figureing maybe it was just RS_form I then installed ario onto a seperate 1.5 site I have at which point the homepage gave me the exact same error message. The first site (1.5.3) is completely un touched as far as configurations go - everything is default, no sample data, i\'m using php5. The second site - was running in legacy mode, has fireboard, comunity builder, JAM, and google analytics components installed. NOT rs_form though. On both sites I did not turn on SEF urls - although thinking into the future I did want to turn them on eventually, however they should be disabled. You said there was 3 places to look, can you remind me of the other two place? I looked in the global configuration and sef is turned off. Also I still have htaccess.txt and had never changed it (I was keeping everything as close to default as possible) on both sites. EDIT: I did some more web searching and I found this: http://www.joomlajunkie.com/members-...freltoabs.html Apparently legacy mode causes the 1.5 naitive template to get this error - would have ben nice to know you have seen this error before. That explains why my working site got the error but now I am wondering why I get that error when using only other naitive 1.5 addons. |

The biggest thing here is the fact that it is Joomal 1.5 and there is still a bit of a learning curve for everybody.
