| New beta versions of Morph & Configurator + updates to Explorer & Vanilla
Hi guys, Our phone line is down again and we once again at the mercy of our crappy telecoms provider. I'm posting this update from our local internet cafe, as we really want to get the new updated version out to you in time for the weekend. IMPORTANT: Please note the that new version 1.06 is currently in beta and only intended for testing. Please do not install the new versions on your live site unless are willing to restore it from your own backup if anything goes wrong. This version introduces the new caching engine & while we have done extensive testing, our previous experience dictates that this should be tested on a wider audience before considering it stable. We need to confirm that the various path issues that have been causing havoc on windows are indeed fixed and that there are no other bugs that have crept in with the new updates. We're hoping our line will be sorted out by early next week, but one never knows with these guys. We'll do our best to keep you all updated along the way. So now that that's covered, here is a list of whats changed in this version: Configurator updated to 1.06 BETA - Updated all links between Configurator and the framework to work with the new system plugin. - Added new options to the performance tab to manage the new caching engine. - Fixed the the installer template install confirmation dialog saying Upgraded for first time installs. - Updated the Configurator installer to automatically install and publish the new framework system plugin. - Fixed the "customize" links in the Assets tabs. (ie, customize themelet, customize background, etc). - Fixed the missing scrollbar issue, when selecting logout, but then canceling. - Swapped the editors save and apply buttons (previously the save button applied and vice versa). - Lots of refinements to the installers sql, which should prevent time outs. - Fixed the recycle bin new threshold "divide by zero" bug. - Extensive updates to the various paths to improve interoperability. Updated Morph to v1.08 BETA. - Fixed the bug with the subtext class not working properly. - Updated all of the templates paths to work seamlessly on different operating systems. - Moved the css and js logic over to the new framework system plugin. - Removed the old template.css.php & template.js.php with variables via the url. - Updated all the dynamic css and js to work with the new plugin. - Introduced new caching engine. - Fixed the browser default print view and updated the print.css. - Fixed the category blog date which was still using the article>created. - Fixed a number of the javascript conditional wraps. - Fixed the automatic inclusion of themelet rtl css file, as well as updated the core frameworks rtl.css. - Added back the auto inclusion of custom.css or custom.js in the themelet. - Fixed the conditional wraps around the various javascript files. - Updated all the css and javascript paths to use relative paths instead of full ones. Updated Explorer to v1.01. - Removed the page navigation from the print view. - Tweaked the 125x125 banner ads block spacing. - Removed the overflow:hidden from the pathway, as it was cutting off the pathway text. - Fixed the top menu link color when subtext is not used. - Removed the custom.css.php and the custom.js.php, as they are no longer needed. Updated Vanilla to v1.06. - Sprited the themelets base images. - Removed the custom.css.php and the custom.js.php, as they are no longer needed. Whats next? Configurator: - Add a new alert dialog 5 minutes prior to session timing out. - Fix all Configurator conditionals (ie, only show options based on selection). Morph: - Fixed the zero javascript mode that stopped working in the recent updates. - Fix the font sizer cookie on the article page. - Automatic minifying of the templates css and javascript. - Fix the issue with main menu bug reported on the forums. - Fix any other issues that persist after the update. - Tweak the menu javascript conditional wraps to check if a menu has children (ie, suffix is used & has children). - Tweak the chrome javascript conditionals to check if chrome is set in Configurator and modules published to the position. - Add option to disable and purge cache from the Developer toolbar. - Fix the issue with the "Share Article" on the article page. Hope you all have a great weekend! Cheers, Chris |

| get back the access to custom.css
Looking from the list of updates above, I don't see putting back the custom.css in the themelet css folder to allow other options if we choose not to use the code editor as you mentioned in my previous post. I hope that it happens because using the code editor now has slowed down my workflow trying to finish a travel site for a client. If you already have it on list, please let me know and I won't bother you about it again, Thanks Manny |

I upgraded Explorer on an about-to-be-live site and have lost all my custom CSS edits. The edits still show when I go to the code editor in Configurator, but it has no effect. Should the Explorer 1.01 file have had a "BETA" designation? It appears that it has a change that requires the new BETA version of Morph to function properly? |

Hi Dan, I have a sneaking suspicion what the problem is. Can you try taking the custom.css.php from the previous version (let me know if you don't have it) and put a copy in the new updated version. Those files are no longer needed in the new updates, but i let it slip through with the update. One of the frustrations from posting updates from an internet cafe - i always feel way more stressed out working against the clock with a zillion things to get through! Cheers, Chris |

See the point on the Morph update: "Added back the auto inclusion of custom.css or custom.js in the themelet." ;) I told you i wouldn't forget about you :P I've tested this extensively, so you shouldn't have any hassles, but let me know if you do :) Cheers, Chris | |

You are the man. With this kind of template system and very high quality support, I will be a member for a very very very long time. I have no need to join any other Joomla template company because you provide all I need for quick setup, customizing and deployment. Thank you very much. I really appreciate it. |
