Joomla 1.5, or Joomla 1.0? That's the question many people are asking... There's really no right or wrong version, but there's certainly some pros and cons to each.

1.5 has some killer backend ui upgrades. At first glance, 1.0 users find the 1.5 admin area to be a bit difficult to navigate, but become quickly acclimated. As well, the code structure of 1.5 give designers and developers a better environment to practice their trade.

A little under one year ago Joomlaboard announced it would merge with a new crew of developers and rebrand their popular forum component into Fireboard. Fireboard has dominated the category of self contained forum components ever since. Develop your Joomla site on your own network.  You will be amazed how much faster you will get things done.  

I am pretty stubborn sometimes.  When I am creating a new Joomla site I will typically upload it to my webspace and edit things around to my liking.  I have to wait on the  occasional page refresh and FTP up and down constantly.  Recently I tried out some of the more popular standalone server programs and was really impressed with how far they came along.
