Those of you who have been around a while should rememeber Mambo, the CMS that our beloved Joomla is based off of. A few years back there was a bunch of bickering and discussion about how Mambo was to evolve and thus Joomla was spawned. Well, another fork of Mambo has popped out again, this time taking a bunch more developers and coders. This group has now created MiaCMS.

The MiaCMS Story

MiaCMS is a fork of the Mambo CMS.

Want a browser that is stable, functional, and incredibly useful?  I think we all do.  I have been using Camino for some time due to how fast it is but I have been using Firefox more and more due to me needing to do a lot more debugging and diagnosing of Web sites.  The most recent versions have let me down a bit due to the betas being much crashier then I am accustomed to by Firefox.

Of course this isn't a post bashing Firefox, this is a post

Extreme blogger liteYou said you didn't want a dark template, so we developed a new version of Extreme Blogger that had a lighter color scheme.

People loved how Extreme Blogger was clean, simple, and easily configurable, but not everybody wanted a dark website.  So we took our popular Extreme Blogging template and flipped it inside out. Extreme Blogger Lite is still packed with all the features of it's twin brother but it uses a much lighter colors.

JoomlaJunkie Affiliate Program

One of our most requested features on JoomlaJunkie.com is some sort of Affiliate Program. Many of you die hard JoomlaJunkie fans will remember that when 2Checkout announced a built in Affiliate Program, but after testing it out we realized that it wasn't really suited to our business model. We've tried a number of different programs since then and none of them quite worked.

Well, we are super duper happy to announce that our new Affiliate Program will be ready

You 've all heard about MyBlog - the great blogging software used in conjunction with the JoomlaJunkie site and their templates, but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about...

How to Manage Your Blog - M.Y.Blog

So you've set up the software and you're itching to write your first post. You write it, spell check it and then PUBLISH IT! Yay, you're up and running. But what next? Well maybe the next few posts aren't too hard, after all it's still a novelty.

I have been on the front end of Joomla for years. Creating Web sites for clients, myself, friends, anybody who would pay, and even a few who wouldn't. I have always had a general idea of what it took for a template company to produce a template, but no real proof to validate my assumptions. JoomlaJunkie recently hired me on staff and gave me all the proof I needed to discover it is way more complicated then I ever dreamed.

Joomla templates are pretty straight

You may have heard the terms Web 2.0 and Social Networking bandied about more and more frequently. Do you know what they mean? More importantly, do you know what they mean for your business?

More interactive technology

Web 2.0 is the accepted term for the next generation of web technologies. These technologies provide a more interactive web experience and  offer an immediacy that was lacking in static websites. Web 2.0 technologies allow visitors to your site to

We've all seen the diagrams and read the instructions - you know the sort of thing "eyes at the level of the top of the screen, forearms relaxed" etc., etc. But do we do it? No! At least I don't and I don't really know anyone who does. Do you?

Why does one size have to fit all when it comes to ergonomics?

I don't mean that the measurements are the same for everyone but why do they assume that same position is comfortable for everyone? And why do your eyes have to be

Joomla 1.5, or Joomla 1.0? That's the question many people are asking... There's really no right or wrong version, but there's certainly some pros and cons to each.

1.5 has some killer backend ui upgrades. At first glance, 1.0 users find the 1.5 admin area to be a bit difficult to navigate, but become quickly acclimated. As well, the code structure of 1.5 give designers and developers a better environment to practice their trade.

1.0 has 1.5 beaten when it comes to

A little under one year ago Joomlaboard announced it would merge with a new crew of developers and rebrand their popular forum component into Fireboard. Fireboard has dominated the category of self contained forum components ever since.
