I generally avoid talking about politics on the blog, but I just received an email from Avaaz.org, which (for those who don't already know) are an admirable bunch of people that are actively petitioning and raising awareness against various important global issues.

Ario gets updated to make it play better with Joomla 1.5 in legacy mode

Some people reported problems with Ario not working in Joomla 1.5 when the legacy mambot is published. Most reports were of a blank white screen (although this is probably only because error reporting in php is turned off) If error reporting is turned on an error will show refering to the legacy mambot. This has now been fixed and a new version of the template can be downloaded from the club that will work as intended.

A quick update on Aurora and Tatami

Since we first launched Aurora two weeks ago, we have had many emails and posts on the forums asking why there was not a native Joomla 1.5 version. The reason for this is really simple. Due to the extensive customization options, we decided to team up with the clever guys from Ninjoomla and base the template around their template configuration component, called Tatami. From day one this has been a match made in heaven and we are thrilled to be involved with the project.

Joomla.org is a huge site with thousands of users and multiple Joomla installs. It appears to be one install, but upon closer inspection of the code you will see that different sections are sometimes more then they appear. The main page which we all know and love is a current build of Joomla, but you might notice the forum is not really Joomla at all. It is HTML added to the header and footer of phpBB. Joomla shop? What is good copy? This is the question everyone would like to know the answer to. There's probably no one right answer either. What is good copy for one audience or medium won't necessarily work well for another.
