I am pleased to announce the release of two new Joomla! 1.5 templates available for download in the template club for all JoomlaJunkie subscribers. If you have purchased a Joomla 1.0.x version of either of these templates, an email will be sent with a download link to the new 1.5 version for free. If you don't get a download link, then please email "update [at] webmonkeys.co.za"

Extreme blogger lite

The train of excellence keeps driving onward, and this month brings us our newest template--Rational Magic.

We love clean and effective designs. We wanted a template that was super lightweight, fast loading and still had a lot of versatility and we think we nailed it with Rational Magic.

I generally avoid talking about politics on the blog, but I just received an email from Avaaz.org, which (for those who don't already know) are an admirable bunch of people that are actively petitioning and raising awareness against various important global issues.

Their email today was about the crazy events that have taken place in Zimbabwe over the weeks building up to and after the presidential elections. Who knows whether their petition and ad campaign will

Some people reported problems with Ario not working in Joomla 1.5 when the legacy mambot is published.  Most reports were of a blank white screen (although this is probably only because error reporting in php is turned off) If error reporting is turned on an error will show refering to the legacy mambot.  This has now been fixed and a new version of the template can be downloaded from the club that will work as intended.

Other small adjustments were made to the

We feel it is important for real people and real customers to spread the word about JoomlaJunkie. If you have had a good experience or just enjoy our templates, please say a few words about us at BestofJoomla.com.

It will only take a few seconds, and we really appreciate it. Rememeber, the more people that know about us, the faster we can churn out more quality templates. If we start doing 2 templates a

We know you all appreciate the benefits of cool and funky templates, after all that's why you're part of our Joomla Junkie community, but do you know just how important the words on your site are?

I didn't really appreciate this myself until we teamed up with The Copywriter Online and got Munaiba to professionally write our site. Great copywriting and great templates go hand-in-hand to deliver a professional web presence and we're stoked! It really is money

Since we first launched Aurora two weeks ago, we have had many emails and posts on the forums asking why there was not a native Joomla 1.5 version. The reason for this is really simple. Due to the extensive customization options, we decided to team up with the clever guys from Ninjoomla and base the template around their template configuration component, called Tatami. From day one this has been a match made in heaven and we are thrilled to be involved with the

Joomla.org is a huge site with thousands of users and multiple Joomla installs. It appears to be one install, but upon closer inspection of the code you will see that different sections are sometimes more then they appear. The main page which we all know and love is a current build of Joomla, but you might notice the forum is not really Joomla at all. It is HTML added to the header and footer of phpBB. Joomla shop? Yup, it's 1.5. Joomla developers, yessir,

What is good copy? This is the question everyone would like to know the answer to. There's probably no one right answer either. What is good copy for one audience or medium won't necessarily work well for another.

Are there any "must haves" that are pretty universal?

I think there are. Here's a list of my "must have" qualities for qualifying as good copy. See what you think and feel free to post your list or additions you think are important.

We’ve been planning for the future. Take a look at our vision! And let us know what you want…

Over the past couple of weeks, all of us at JoomlaJunkie have been doing a lot of thinking about where we are now and where we want the business to be in 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 5 years from now, etc. We have already seen a major difference in the site by giving it all of our focus and this is something we would like to expand on. We are working furiously to tighten
