| Template Guide - Supremacy |
|
To make sure your template is setup correctly, please make sure you read through the template guide thoroughly. We have made the template as customisable as possible and all our css is fully commented. Before You Start:Once you have successfully downloaded your template, you will need to extract the zip archive to your local computer, using a free archive utility like 7zip (PC) or MacZip (Mac),
extract the contents on the zip (named something along the lines of "ExtractMe-TemplateName.zip" onto your computer. Step 1.) Installing just the Template.
The template will now be successfully installed Step 2.) Configuring the ModulesNow that you have the template working, we need to go over some things you have to do in order to get it looking the way we want. You may find the menus look different etc this is because your install of Joomla has setting that are not configured for the template. 1. The left menu navigationWhichever menu you decide to put there, the 4th option needs to be set to "FLAT LIST" in the parameters of the module (see the tutorial above for help if needed). 2. The suckerfish top menuThis one is a little more tricky, you have to install an extended menu module which allows Joomla to output the menu in a way that we need it so we can control it with css. This helps keep the code as accesible as possible and search engines like it even more. This is what you need to get started, please follow these steps carefuly.
3. Module positionsIf you need to know the module positions, add ?tp=1 to the end of the url in the browser and they will be displayed for example: http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?tp=1. As on the demo website: http://joomlajunkie.com/supremacy/index.php?tp=1 In order for a module to show up in the place you want, ensure the module is set to that position on the template, here is a break down of the module positions. 4. Instant SearchThis is pretty simple, install the module, mod_shep_livesearch.zip and publish ot to the User4 Position and you are all set!! 5. Image reflectionIf you would like to add a reflection to an image, you must not use the tag in editor. You have to add the actual image path into the code / HTML. It is really easy, all you have to do is add this code where you want the image:
class="reflect" is what makes the reflection. src=" must be the path to the image on your server. The reflection uses javascript to alter the image and add code to the page to make it work, it does not work in all browsers as older ones dont support the methods it uses to generate the reflection!! It is based on an open source script, more information can be found here http://cow.neondragon.net/stuff/reflection/. If you have problems using the reflection, you are best of checking his website and blog for some ideas. That is that, you should be up and running as you need to, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!! Important note: usage of this template is strictly for one domain only!!! please read our terms of use page on our website for more information! |
