Template Guide - Simplex

To make sure your template is setup correctly, please make sure you read through the template guide thoroughly.

Step 1.) Installing the Template

  1. Login to Joomla Admin
  2. Go to "Installers > Template Site"
  3. Browse for the template zip file
  4. Click "Upload File and Install"
  5. Click "Continue..."
  6. In the Template Manager, select the new template's radio box and click on the "Default" button (top right).

** The template will now be successfully installed, so you can proceed to Step Two to configure the admin.

Step 2.) Setting the module positions and module options.

  1. Now click on "Modules > Site Modules" from the top navigation. We need to make sure all the modules are published to the correct module positions and set the module options where necessary.
  2. Next we need to open the following modules and check these parameters are correct, if not you need to change them as followss:

Module Settings

  1. Top menu
    • Disable the Module Title (Show Title: No).
    • Publish the module.
    • Set the "Menu Class Suffix" to "-topnav".
    • Menu Style Set to "Flat List" - This is important for Search engine spiders.
    • Set parameter "Full Active highlighting" to yes
  2. *THESE SETTINGS ARE FOR ANY MENU ASSIGNED TO THE LEFT COLUMN
    Left menu (it can be any of the menu's you like)
    • Disable the Module Title (Show Title: No).
    • Publish the module
    • Choose which menu to link to
    • Set the "Module Class Suffix" to "-sidenav".
    • Menu Style Set to "Flat List" - This is important for Search engine spiders.
    • Set parameter "Full Active highlighting" to yes
  3. Footer menu (it can be any of the menu's you like)
    • Disable the Module Title (Show Title: No).
    • Publish the module
    • Choose which menu to link to
    • Set the "Menu Class Suffix" to "-footer".
    • Menu Style Set to "Flat List" - This is important for Search engine spiders.
  4. Login
    • Publish the module
    • Set the "Module Class Suffix" to "-dark".
  5. Search
    • Disable the Module Title (Show Title: No).
    • Publish the module
    • Set the "Module Class Suffix" to "-search".
    • Make sure it is published to the top of the modules to display at the top of the sidebar .
  6. Polls (If wanted) - Publish and Set to to "Left".
  7. Who's Online (If wanted) - Publish and Set to to "Left".

Setting Module Colors

  1. Sidebar (left modules)
    • Blue is the default all modules will be blue by default
    • Green, change module suffix to -green
    • Dark, change module suffix to dark
  2. Insetr (these can be assigned to top or bottom module positions)
    • Blue, change module suffix to -inset-blue
    • Green, change module suffix to -inset-green
    • Grey, change module suffix to -inset-grey
