To make sure your template is setup correctly, please make sure you read through the template guide thoroughly. We have made the template as customizable as possible and all our css is fully commented.
Before You Start:
Once you have successfully downloaded your template, you will need to extract the zip archive to your local computer, using a free archive utility like 7zip (PC) or MacZip (Mac),
extract the contents on the zip (named something along the lines of "ExtractMe-TemplateName.zip" onto your computer.
First of all, lets start by explaining whats included in your download and how we have structured the files.
In the main folder that you have just extracted to, you should have the following folders:
- Template (This includes the color template zip file that you would use to install only the template)
- Source Files (These are the Fireworks source files that we designed the template in. If you dont have a copy of Fireworks, you can always download a trial version from the Macromedia site here.)
- Fonts (Any Fonts needed by the template)
iFresh also has built in custom styling for the MyBlog and Fireboard forum components, install these components from their respective sites and set them to use the templates CSS and they will style correctly:
- MyBlog: Azrul
- www.azrul.com/products/my_blog.html
- Once you have MyBlog installed, open the component and set the default template to dark grey
- (general settings > layout tab)
- Fireboard Forum: Best of Joomla - www.bestofjoomla.com
- Once you have the FireBoard component installed, set this to use it's built in default_green template
- (Configuration > Front-end Tab)
Step 1.) Installing just the Template, Mambots and the template config.
- Go to "Installers > Template Site"
- Browse for the template zip file in the Template folder.
- Click "Upload File and Install".
- Click "Continue..."
- In the Template Manager, select the new template's radio box and click on the "Default" button (top right).
The template will now be successfully installed, so you can proceed to setting up the module options below:
Step 2.) Setting the module options.
Not much to do here as most settings are configured in the section "configuration options". We going to work from the top page modules down to the bottom... the diagram below shows all module positions for iFresh.
- other menu -we are using the other menu for the inset position:
- open up the other menu, set its position to inset and set it to a flat list, also give it a suffix of -inset and then publish and save the module.
- advert 1, advert 2 and bottom -
These are setup and will style as follows:
- if you publish any content any of these positions they will style accordingly, each respective position can have up to 6 modules within it, more about intelli modules can be read on the demo on this page.
- top menu
- this is used for the 4 level suckerfish menu.
- main menu
- this is set using the standard left position as below:
- Open the "Main Menu" module, set the menu type to flat list.
- footer menu - as we have used all standard menus, create a new or copy a menu and set as follows:
- Open up the relevant menu, set its position to footer and set it to a flat list, also give it a suffix of -footer and then publish and save the module.
